so i switched to linux, i am running on a Ubuntu Feysti box.
Since i didn’t switch to just leave the OS do it all on its own (heh), has soon has the installation was finished i started tampering with the system, including ASLA configurations. One switch too much and was all blown.
So my tip is, if you don’t know what it is, DO NOT TOUCH IT!!!
People having trouble with Soud Blaster LS or any other SB running ca0106 should first check to disable IEC958.
I still have no idea what it is, but my sound plays very well with that thing disabled.
Edit: Also, this goes to show that the linux community has lots of online help that should not be forgotten when considering the switch from win to linux.

today i was trying to access some files on a windows XP system, using a Mac OS X. I tried accessing them with FTP because most of the times thats what ends up working faster for me to transfer files. I was using Cerberus FTP server on the windows machine and the Cyberduck FTP client in the MAC. For some reason i could not understand Connection was timing out because Cerberus could not list directories on time. So i thought that maybe switching to another software could do the trick. So google brought me to FileZilla FTP Server. This boy did the trick and got to admit that although it seems a bit more complicated to manage then Cerberus it is a winner.
